A New Way to Develop Your Next Generation of Seller-Doers
Many engineers struggle with the skills that are critical to growing the business, for example, networking, communicating effectively, building and deepening relationships with clients, and writing winning proposals.
The challenge with learning these types of skills are that they can’t be learned in a short period of time.
Traditional training aims to teach knowledge and skills in discrete sessions – from one-hour session or two-day seminar… with little to show for it.
In fact, research shows that the effects of training tend to be marginal and, worse, the benefits of one-time training events rarely last more than 120 days – that’s only four months!
Research shows that one of the biggest failures of traditional training is that there is no ongoing reinforcement and coaching. When it comes to public seminars, conferences, in-house training, and outsourced training, ongoing coaching is impractical and cost prohibitive.
Now there’s a new and better choice …
Here’s what the experience will be like for your seller-doers. The Academy consists of three primary learning strategies:
- Twelve live webinars per year,
- Periodic (4 per year) group coaching calls, and
- Private coaching via email Q&A*.
Live Webinars
Participants may attend up to twelve live webinars per year. Within 72 hours of the session, participants will be able to access a recording of the webinar on demand via streaming video or audio, and the recording will remain available to members until the next session commences. Participants who were unable to attend the webinar will be able to keep up to date in this manner, if the topic is relevant for them.
From your conference room, their own desks, or even a home office, participants will attend a monthly 60-90 minute webinar on a topic that has been tailored for the needs of civil engineers based on your business needs. For select topics, participants will then be given takeaway activities (i.e., much like homework) to help them apply the practices to real work … offline, after the webinar. We will debrief these activities during the four periodic group coaching calls.
To learn about your firm, in advance of your first webinar, we will hold a one-hour private, group teleconference with your team to uncover your specific needs as it relates to our webinar topics. Webinar participants will be able to type in questions or ask them out loud on an open line.
These webinars are exclusive for Academy members and are not free public webinars, nor are they offered on a fee-per-webinar basis.
Debrief/Group Coaching Calls
Each year, your enrollees will have the option to participate in four 60-minute live coaching calls with other members that will allow for Q&A time with learning coaches to discuss progress on core skills development from the webinars and takeaway assignments completed since the prior call.
Just-in-Time Email Coaching
Direct e-mail correspondence with Academy learning coaches for your twelve participants. Your twelve participants will be able to send an email to our Academy manager who will forward it on to the learning coach best able to respond and that learning coach will respond within 36 business hours.
* This is a service that will not be included for basic members going forward, unless you are a Charter Member or you have signed up for a premium tier.
Improvement that Sticks
Your staff will experience a blended learning approach (webinar, tools, video lessons, offline activities, and collaboration) designed to draw on the skills, experience, and unique needs of the people on your team.
